Melissa Williams, lmft
Melissa Williams is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist earning her undergraduate degree at Ashford University in Clinton Iowa, and her graduate degree at Capella University in Minneapolis Minnesota. Melissa is currently working on her PhD in advanced studies of human behavior and will be done in 2019. Melissa moved to Southwest Florida from Minneapolis Minnesota in 2011 with her husband and her two children Mikayla and Ian. Before coming to Florida Melissa created her own Veterans program working with Hennepin County Veterans Court, mentor program, and building ramps for disabled Veterans for free which is still going strong. When therapist moved to FL, she worked with Lutheran Services of Florida working with children in foster care and adoption. Melissa went on to work with teens and adults in addictions, teens in in patient substance abuse programing with DJJ and worked more recently with families, teens, and adults with mental health and substance abuse issues.
Melissa has experience working with dual-diagnosis, PTSD, anxiety, sexual abuse, mood disorders, couple issues, family issues, and clients with suicidal ideation.
