In 1994 I moved to Florida and have over 20 years of experience in varied counseling settings. I provided counseling services in a Juvenile Justice Program and in schools providing treatment to adolescents with substance abuse and mental health issues. I provided treatment in an outpatient and impatient facilities delivering treatment to children and adults. I have worked with children and their families, adolescents and adults with mental health and substance issues as well as older adults with stage of life issues and chronic mental illness.
My approach to therapy is person centered drawing on evidenced based treatment strategies using CBT, motivational interviewing, and solution focused brief therapy. And my treatment goal is to help people maneuver through difficulties and move forward by increasing self-awareness, coping skills, and improving self-esteem. I provide individual, family, and group therapy for adjustment disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, substance abuse, parent-child relational issues, and trauma disorders.
